Mix media on canvas. 90 X 120 cms. 2024 Collection: BEFORE THE SHARD Relic No. BTS-V.O7 Energetic Function: Unseal internal chambers of perception. Symbolic Role: Whispering Oracle. One does not view Aperture of the Violet Bloom. One is held by it precisely, silently, and without exit. This is a relic staged with such absolute restraint that interpretation becomes irrelevant. The central structure, both aperture and reliquary, contains what can only be described as a sovereign bloom not floral, not biological, but constructed from some private geometry of emergence. Around it, the arrangement of black teardrops is neither ornamental nor expressive. Their placement implies ceremony: an intentional choreography of residue. Their teardrop form is not emotional it is architectural. The violet core within the bloom refracts no light. It does not invite observation. It simply remains. As if waiting for the observer to align not to understand. During preliminary perceptual studies, this relic generated high-frequency cognitive deceleration marked by decreased eye-motion variability and reduced affective reactivity. It does not trigger recognition; it halts it. This suggests the relic operates as a cognitive suppressant, quieting interpretive reflexes and reinforcing symbolic surrender. The viewer is not stimulated they are re-patterned. I spent a long time in front of this one, longer than I typically allow myself. Not because it asked, but because it refused to move. The piece is immovable in a way I found disorienting. Almost unreasonable. This is a relic of dimensional governance. A field designed not to speak, but to regulate presence. In an era obsessed with narrative and emotion, this piece refuses both. It proposes no myth. It simply exists perfectly, impossibly within the myth already underway.
